God Inhabits the Praise of His People”
“But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel. (Psalm 22:3)
Call to Worship (Unison)
This is the day that the Lord has made,
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Jesus is coming. He comes to us, riding on a donkey.
Open wide the gates! Let us welcome him with open
hearts. Jesus is coming! Hosanna to the King of kings!
Hymn: # 218- “Hosanna, loud hosanna”
1. Hosanna, loud hosanna, the little children sang;
through pillared court and temple the joyful anthem rang.
To Jesus, who had held them close folded to his breast,
the children sang their praises, the simplest and the best.
2. From Olivet they followed amid the shouting crowd,
the victor palm branch waving and chanting clear and loud;
Messiah, God's anointed, rode there in humble state,
'Hosanna, in the highest!' rang out their praises great.
3. 'Hosanna in the highest!' that ancient song we sing,
for Christ is our Redeemer, the Lord of heaven our King.
Oh may we ever praise him with heart and life and voice,
and in God's joyful presence eternally rejoice!
Prayer of Adoration, Confession and Lord’s Prayer (Debts)
Assurance of Pardon
Anthem: We Hear the Word Proclaimed
Prayer for Illumination
Psalm: Psalm 18:1-2, 19-29
Scripture: Matthew 21:1-11

Dedication and Prayers of the People
Hymn: #214 – “All glory, laud and honour”
All glory, laud, and honor
To thee, Redeemer, King,
To whom the lips of children
Made sweet hosannas ring.
1. Thou art the King of Israel,
Thou David's royal Son,
Who in the Lord's name comest,
The King and Blessed One.
2. The people of the Hebrews
With palms before thee went;
Our praise and love and anthems
Before thee we present.
3.To thee, before thy passion,
They sang their hymns of praise;
To thee, now high exalted,
Our melody we raise.
4. Thou didst accept their praises;
Accept the prayers we bring,
Who in all good delightest,
Thou good and gracious King.
We Go In Love to Serve the Lord
The last two weeks have been a steep learning curve for the
online worship team. We have gone from just the message
initially, to this week where James and Debbie have joined and
now we have music and hymns! Aaron is also adding the lyrics
to the hymns, on screen, as well as adding other graphics.
At this point our intention is to have the worship service posted
at 11am each Sunday. Everyone who is able is encouraged to
tune in at that time so that we can create a ‘sense’ of virtual
community. I am sure we will sense everyone worshipping ‘in
the Spirit’. The video will remain available on our YouTube
channel and website for viewing at another time.
As long as the restrictions about gathering don’t change, the
online worship team will do their best to have the worship
service available each Sunday. We will do our best to stay
Blessings, Rev. Virginia
The plan is to have a Maundy Thursday service which will be
available on our YouTube channel, Thursday at 7 pm. It will be
a very unique experience as we will virtually share in a hand
washing litany and Agape Feast, in place of Holy Communion.
Further instructions will be coming so you can get everything
ready, so stay tuned.
Donations can be brought to the church every day between 10
am and noon. Please place them in the buckets in front of the
middle doors of the church.
One trunk and 1/3 of the back seat filled with groceries were
delivered to Newark this past Tuesday and they were
overwhelmed, especially since many of their most needed items
were included. Just a reminder that canned stews, chili, chunky
chicken soup, canned kidney beans, salted soup crackers,
tinned fruit, toilet paper and cereal are on their most wanted list.
Thank you to everyone who has donated. We will continue
collecting until Newark tells there is no need.
